Our Inspiration

This is a short clip discovered by Joshua that effectively illustrated a use of varying camera angles. This change from the common long shot or close up provided our group with a well needed refresher from so many repetitive scenes in modern times. This unique take on filming and choice to use a variety of less popular shots really encourages us to adapt special camera shots and techniques into our clip.

We decided to research music that we would use in our prodcution quite early as both me (Maxwell) and Andrew share quite a passion for music and thought that music would comprise a big aspect of our final production. Our choices varied little because we understood that the musc we required should be ascending in an effort to build tension. We also took into consideration the over use of music in productions, we did not want to broaden our search too widely or too varied as too much music would withdraw from our tense atmosphere.

Another piece of inspiration we had was for our location planning. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, there was a brief scene that well represented what we wanted to portray with our production.

During the clip, from 1:00 to 1:27, the sense of being entrapped in an open space really latched upon us and helped form the basis for our production. The location, is similar in nature to ours, a alleyway, a bustling high street, our production comprised elements of this scene and it was very helpful and useful as a starting point for adaptation.

Evaluation:

As a group we believe it is, was and should be important to document your changes in ideas an opinions and how the development of your product came about. This page collates all the sources we have looked at that have helped to better or hinder our idea. Examples of clips and locations we came accross and the effect they had on our working product will be featured here. These will relate from small details such as camera shots to large scale changes such as the upheaval of our location planning ideas. Our inspiration is what fuels our final products innovation and keeps it changing and improving to better suit our needs and the 'demands' from our target audience.
